food and clothes!

Yadi Escobar- Hello all!
we had a very good day today, sunday march 1st, we've been having sunday services at the village since the year started. it's been really awesome! we had a regular attendance of 150 people sometimes 300! today we went to church there, had sometime to play with the kids, and gave them food and clothes donated from churches and people across California. we want to thank those supporting this vision, know that you can do a lot! this people have great needs and anything you could do to help will be welcome. specially now that the jobs are decreasing and A LOT of people are without a job. Two couples from L.A. came last weekend, they gathered donations (clothes, food, toys, etc) part of that we gave last weekend with them, Marguerite and Wayne sonoda and Ericka and George, and the rest we gave today. this people were greatly blessed by this. that same weekend as we were leaving the village a girl approached me and asked me if we had ANYTHING to eat, her family had nothing to eat that night and their boss wouldnt pay them because there is not a lot of work. I know today's economy is real bad, but trust me, we still can give. here are some pictures of today's service. Blessings.

Electricity!!!

This last weekend was a very productive weekend. We had a group of guys down from Tulare and they were not only able to run the wires for electricity but they also prepaired the second floor cieling for dry wall. Thanks guys.

In other news the chilrens ministry is off for a short while so its teacher, Melody Gonalez can prepare to have her new son. there was a huge "fiesta" (party) for the kids. It was great to see all the smiling faces as the pinata brought out. Don't worry pictures will be coming soon!

Last day of VBS

Today was our final day of VBS with our team from Oregon. We were able to give out hot dogs, punch, and candy to the kids and families who came for our final day. Best of all, we were able to teach them about the Bible and about God´s love. Our Oregon group donated 400 t-shirts to Village of Hope that say Jesus Loves Me. It was also a great opportunity to remind the families about our BIG outreach during Labor Day Weekend. Having groups come and do mini-VBS outreaches is always fun for us because it contnues to grow the relationship that we have with the families and children. Here are some classic shots from today.

Praise God!

We just received word last night that we have just received funding to continue construction at Village of Hope and complete the roof! Our goals were to have the roof completed by winter and thanks to God, we will have a roof on before winer comes along. We have a group of contractors who will be coming from Tulare, California in a few weeks to help get the roof started. What you see in this picture are many of the children we work with and in the background in the frames is the blueprint of what Village of Hope will look like once it´s done. It´s normal to see kids lingering around and pointing out all of the facilities we will have to offer. God is so good!

Thank You to our friends from Oregon!

We are very thankful for the help of a church from Oregon who came down to Mexico and did a VBS out at Village of Hope! We worked a bit on cleaning up the facility during the morning and then doing a VBS in the afternoon. They are headin out early tomorrow morning and we hope to see them again soon! What a group of hard workers! Thanks for all of your help!
