Electricity!!!

This last weekend was a very productive weekend. We had a group of guys down from Tulare and they were not only able to run the wires for electricity but they also prepaired the second floor cieling for dry wall. Thanks guys.

In other news the chilrens ministry is off for a short while so its teacher, Melody Gonalez can prepare to have her new son. there was a huge "fiesta" (party) for the kids. It was great to see all the smiling faces as the pinata brought out. Don't worry pictures will be coming soon!

Hello All

Well first off let me introduce myself. My name is Jeremy Gonzalez. My wife and I are missionaries with YUGO Ministries. We have partnered with Pastor Mayarino and his wife and the ministry that they have at Campo Esperanza. My wife and I are woking with the children of the families and soon hope to start working with the youth. I am currently also working on building and managing a web site. Check it out www.campoesperanza.org . My hope is to also help keep this updated as well. Pictures will be coming soon!!!
The minstry and work is continuing forward and God is working!

As I graduated from Rio Grande Bible Institute I went back home to help the church that my dad leaded. I heard about the migrant camps from the organization I was working with at that point, YWAM, and as soon as I saw the need, God put a big burden in my heart. A lady from our church, sister Teresa, had also heard of these migrants camps, and talking about it, we both realized that God wanted to us to go and do something for them.

Sister Teresa and I started going to these camps 3 times a week. We would prepare school and Bible lessons for them. Their Spanish was very poor so we started teaching them Spanish with pictures and draws. They would laugh with some hard Spanish words.
They were very reserved and quite. But they were open and excited to learn. I believe we were the first ones that starting teaching them about Jesus, reading and writing. We would sit them in blue tarps and hand them their very first notebooks and pencils. We went to 2 different camps and we had from 12 kids in the smallest camp to 35 kids and the biggest ones. We also gave them toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and face lotions. We would wash their little faces, dry them, and put face lotion. They loved us to do it for them. We told them they need to do it every day and that they needed to be clean every time we came. When they would see us coming they would run to a bucket of water and wash their faces. They will come running to greet us with their wet and damp hair. They were learning the importance on hygiene too.
Then my mom and I were left alone in the mission field. My mom and I spoke of the need of a place to give them education and care. We couldn’t just keep bringing clothes and food and leave them in the situation they lived. It was the beginning of a dream of hope for the mixteco culture. The communities started to trust, After 3 years of work I left to work with New Life community Church and my mom continued with the vision and continued praying until God answered. bringing the Pastor, and the whole church and partners to grasp the vision. Now this vision is becoming a reality, a reality that only God couldve done. I give Him the honour, the praise and the Glory for what He's doing in the Village of Hope and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for that ministry and that people!
