Habakkuk 1 V. 5-6

"Look at the nations and watch- and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe,
even if you were told."

thursday

I got to go to a new migrant site today, with this group from Canada, under the leadership of Randy and Sandy Huebert, our dear canadians missionaries, they have a heart for this site, and I had the privildge to go as a translator.

I had seen it, passed by it, I had heard about it, but had never gone.

I'm still in shock. this is a site 10 min from our Village of Hope, of about 50 people, and there is so much need! they are very secluded very few of them speak spanish so we used a translator.

I'm in contact with poverty every day, I'm used to seeing dirty kids, but it always shocks me, and I think it will never stop to shock me.

They live in terrible conditions, it makes me think the kids form our village are blessed! I dont know what stuck more in my head and heart whether the fact that I got to bathe one of the kids, and I got to see all of his scars, and injuries from walking barefeet, seeing bigs bellies due to either malnutritious or parasites or whether the fact that this people dont know who Jesus is, or doesnt seem to know very well. I dont know.

it breaks my heart to see such suffering.

I guess I really saw it when I bathe this boy, the fact that he was only pouring water on him and that was "showering", I started washing him and we didnt have shampoo, nor soap to clean him, I grabbed one of the cloths the that team thankfully had brought to make a bunny craft, and I started washing him, saw his feet full of blisters, full of cuts, and scars that seemed were caused by a nail in both feet. his eyes were, how can I explain them, so pure, but there was something else to, that when I started washing him he stood still. Once we were done, I asked where's your towel?, how foolish of me, he looked at me like what? so we waited there for a long time for his mom to come and get him clothes, I so wished I had him in my house with hot water, nice shampoo and soft towel to wrap him up. but I wasn't. His mom came with a dirty (but clean for them) pair of jeans, and a big t-shirt. no underwear, no socks, no shoes. and this is how they live and how they shower every day.

This people are hungry, specially now with the lack of jobs, they are starving. I know this goes to people nearer our village too. All of them need so much! if you think you're struggling, you dont know, you still have a computer to look at while reading this, probably a couch or a nice comfortable seat also. This people have a piece of plywood and two blankets as a bed for 5.

I know we all have different ways of suffering and I'm not minimizing yours, Im not trying to make you feel guilty for what you have either. Im just asking you to appreciate what you do have. Praise God for it and pray for those that dont have it.

Please pray for these kids. these moms, these dads, and these families who need to know that God is there and wants to help them!

Maybe He can use you and me for that. Think about it.

sunday service

We had a group from Alberta, Canada joining us for service this morning at church and this afternoon at the Village, it was amazing! the Holy Spirit moved in amazing ways! we had healings, people coming to God, and kids, it was great to hear they were in pain before the service and left healed!

It shows us how great God is, how he is still the same as he was when he healed the lame and rose the dead. we serve that same God.

When we serve Him, we get SUPERNATURAL RESULTS!

It was so encouraging to hear the people giving thanks to God and worshiping!

Greater things are yet to be done in this place, with this people. it's beyond excitment!

Praise be to God, we thank Him for this team who visited and are excited to the new relation and connection that has been formed!

VBS day three!

such a great last day!
I think we had the loudest singing EVER! we were singing "Alelujah, praise ye the Lord!" it was soo loud it hurt my ears! it was amazing, this kids, who could barely say yes or no a few years back... are now yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs "Gloria a Dios!" what a gift!

It is also great to see how much they know about God and how much their learning. During question time, they were all raising their hand, telling us that because of Jesus' prayer and faith, he was able to feed the 5000... this kids have such potential, I told them that just as Jesus used that little boy to feed such a big crowd, so was he wanting to use each of them. it was great to see the smiles on their faces.
The youth did all the games, story, songs, craft, and it was soo encouraging to see them hands on the project and see how much theyre growing and their willingnes to do whatever. I am so proud of them! We are really blessed as a church.
we had hot dogs for snacks they loved it! they kept coming back for more, they kept telling us... ME GUSTA HOT DOGS! ...(I like hot dogs).
After the VBS, they asked me to go with them to see their "house" up in the hill... so that started a hiking trip... on the way there, they were telling me... Yadi, Jesus loves us right?, Yadi does Jesus speak English? He speaks Spanish and Mixteco right? and he listens to us right?, it was so encouraging to hear it from them... so encouraging to know that they realize that everything that is being done in the Village comes from God and His deep love for them.

vbs part two

Today was our second day of VBS it was brilliant, the first day we had about 30 kids, and today there were around 50, that is a good sign!

I'm loving this time, because one, the youth are getting to do something they had never done before, 2, we're spending some quality time together, and three, we are spending time with the kids! I had missed them so much!

We didnt have time to grab lunch this afternoon, so we stopped to get something on the way, and because our budget is... well... there isnt one... we just grabbed a bunch of sweet bread, I had never seen anyone devour the food soo fast! This students do know how to eat!

We found a dead dog on the way there so I was like are you still hungry? cos I think God has provided our lunch lets stop and make some tacos. eeuuu Yadi.. grosss...

When we got to the Village, many kids were already there, and others were running towards it!
this got us so pumped up!

We play, sang some songs, had our story on the prodigal son, and did our crafts. e had our memory verse, they are soo smart! they were so eager to tell us the memory verse.

We are having a great time and I thank God for the opportunity to do things like this.

Oh about the cart.... the boy brought it fixed... I was glad but bummed I didnt help. NOBODY PLAYED WITH IT THIS TIME THOU! =)

the cart...

so, today during VBS the kids were playing with this cart, picture below;

they were using it to give the kids rides back and forward, and they asked me... Yadi! get on it! so I did, the first time they pulled me soo fast the cart flipped over and went on top of me, with some minor injuries I got on it again, this time I got stuck in the box while they were pulling me, just before getting to the end of the sidewalk, we stop, because the wheels had gone funny. the cart was broken. It was soo funny, we were all laughing, everyone but the kids who owned the car, and the one girl says... "how are we going to bring the water to our house now!" then, it doomed on me... this cart was NOT their toy, but their only transportation to carry water gallons, lumber and food home. I felt soo bad! the kids were so sad, I kept saying I would fix it, but they were still sad, and kept on trying on ways to fix it. ah geez! I dont know how but I have to get it fixed tomorrow. I feel so bad that they dont have it to carry home whatever they need for today!

the second ride for me... when it broke. the cart after the ride.
...

VBS day 1!

today was our first day of VBS at the Village, we decided to have our own since we had told the kids we would have one, and the team from Tulare was not able to come, obviously is no where near as great as if they were here but the willingness is here. =)

It was so much fun! this is the first time our church does a VBS on our own, so I was slighty nervous at the beggining, but other than forgetting the glue... everything else worked fine!

we had a worm puppet, and they loved it! I was surprise to see how excited and up for it they were! they were yelling the songs, were rasing their hands to answer questions, and I believe they felt so comfortable with us, maybe because they know us.

seriously, I remember when I would approach them, I would only get a yes or no answer, now... I cant get them to be quiet! they are so talkative now, it's brilliant!

here are some pictures... enjoy!

Easter Break.

We are so sad to hear that our friends from Tulare (Young Life) wont be coming this year due to extremely difficult circumstances.

This is one of the biggest outreaches known around here and by far the most important mission trip of the year for the church. It couldnt happen this time, but we pray God will provide a way for next year.

We love each and everyone of you guys, you have made such an impact in our community, and we praise God for you. We send our support and prayers for them through this.

You will be greatly missed this year!
